Professional Training Dr. Mondry completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from MGH Institute of Health Professions, the academic affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He possesses a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He gained advanced certification in orthopaedic manual physical therapy upon completion of a two year post-graduate clinical residency program.

CertificationsDr. Mondry is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) and he also holds a Black Belt Specialized Certificate in Six Sigma Quality Improvement methodology from the University of California, San Diego. He is a board Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) awarded by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Dr. Mondry is also a Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist, having obtained his training through the University of Northern Colorado, Rocky Mountain Cancer Rehabilitation Institute.

Drs. Tammy and Joe Mondry are the only two Doctors of Physical Therapy who are Certified Lymphedema Therapists and Certified Cancer Exercise Specialists in all of San Diego County.

Lectures Dr. Mondry has lectured on the topics of Cancer Rehabilitation and the benefits of prescriptive exercise training for debilitating fatigue and muscle weakness at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego - Balboa and Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton. Dr. Mondry has also lectured regarding prescriptive exercise and its physiological benefits at the state level, speaking at the Annual Conference for the California Physical Therapy Association. He has also provided lectures for local universities and colleges, such as the University of California, San Diego and Maric College, as well as provided lectures to local cancer support groups. Earlier in his career, Dr. Mondry served as a professional instructor for post-graduate continuing medical education courses for other healthcare professionals regarding orthopedic and manual physical therapy principles.

Recognition & AwardsPrior to initiating his private practice, Dr. Mondry provided clinical and operational management to Sharp Mission Park’s Rehabilitation Services Department in North San Diego County. Within this setting, Dr. Mondry was recognized for his leadership, management, and service to Sharp Healthcare by receiving a number of awards including the Sharp Mission Park Leadership Award, as well as receiving fourteen (14) Center of Recognized Excellence (C.O.R.E.) Awards. He received two Individual CORE Awards, was the member of two Work Team CORE Awards, and his department received ten CORE Awards over a four-year period. No other single department within the entire Sharp Healthcare system was awarded as many C.O.R.E. Awards in such a short period of time over the entire the history of Sharp's C.O.R.E. Award process. Because of this unmatched success, Dr. Mondry was appointed to spearhead the entire C.O.R.E. Award program for Sharp Mission Park, and represented that division at the Sharp Healthcare system level.

Dr. Mondry’s exceptional leadership and management contributions aided Sharp Healthcare’s effort in being awarded the 2007 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s highest Presidential honor for organizational performance excellence.

Community SupportDr. Mondry has also been a Cancer supporter in the community by supporting the Komen Foundation’s Race for the Cure, the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Relay For Life walks and has been a participating member for the Cancer Survivorship San Diego! event.
