Because we are licensed Physical Therapists, our services are billed as Outpatient Physical Therapy and are typically covered under most insurance plans. However, each insurance plan is unique based on the coverage provided under that specific plan.

We recommend that you personally research your individual insurance plan to determine what coverage your plan provides for outpatient physical therapy services.

Prior to initiating any formal treatment, California state law requires that anyone seeking care from a Physical Therapist MUST have been diagnosed with a medical condition that is appropriate for rehabilitation services. As a result, you are required to be evaluated by a licensed physician in order to be formally diagnosed. Once a diagnosis has been made, your physician can refer you directly to us by writing a referral for Lymphedema or Cancer Rehabilitation services. This referral is also required for your insurance to provide coverage for any outpatient physical therapy services that are rendered.

Once you have obtained a referral for outpatient physical therapy, please contact our office to schedule your initial evaluation.

With any physical therapy referral, you have the freedom of choice to decide where you prefer to receive your treatment for your condition. At New Horizons Physical Therapy, we understand that insurance networks and other considerations may influence where you choose to receive care. Despite those competing influences, please don't forget that YOU, the consumer, decide the level of quality of care that you receive by choosing the most appropriately trained clinical specialist to address your unique health needs.

As San Diego's only Oncology Rehabilitation specialty practice offering comprehensive Lymphedema and Cancer Rehabilitation services, we provide the most advanced, technologically supported, and evidence-based treatment in all of San Diego County.

Because of our uncompromising commitment to deliver exceptional and individual care, we believe that we offer the best care available for those who need our services.

We are Medicare participating providers as well as TRICARE network providers. Unfortunately, we currently DO NOT contract with any other insurance plans.

Many of our clients pay for their services at the time services are rendered and submit the required documentation to their insurance plan for reimbursement. To assist you in this process, we will provide you with the necessary billing information to ensure that the claim will be processed appropriately by your insurance plan.
